A Child & Adolescent Psychologist Serving San Francisco Families
Are you concerned about your child? Would you like support for her related to your divorce or joint custody, school, friendships, emotions or family issues? I'd like to help.
I'm a clinical psychologist serving a lively group of children, tweens, teenagers and parents. My child and adolescent practice is dedicated to the psychological health of elementary, middle and high school students, ages 5-18. I provide child and adolescent therapy and parent consultation.
Working with children and families over the last 20 + years has given me in-depth understanding of how children and teenagers think, learn and grow. When kids, parents and I put our heads together, we often find ways to make things better.
What I Help Kids, Tweens and Teens With
My clients include children, tweens and teenagers who:
Have parents going through or who have gone through separation or divorce
Have challenges at school such as anxiety, learning differences or friendship issues
Feel worried, anxious, stressed or sad
Would like more friends, closer friends or better friends
Have experienced something stressful, difficult or traumatic
Would like to speak with someone outside their family about things that are on their minds
If none of the above describe your child, contact me and we can talk about whether I may be able to be of help. If not, I'll do my best to help refer you to someone who might be a better resource.
Nurture Your Child's Emotional Health and Well-Being
We all want to see young people happy, engaged in learning, pursuing their strengths and enjoying positive relationships. Family, friends, school and community all contribute to a young person's emotional health and well-being.
Therapy adds another layer of support. It provides encouragement for your child’s development of communication skills and healthy social relationships. It reinforces the message that her thoughts and feelings are important, and that talking it about challenges is a healthy way to get help with them. Young people often appreciate the chance to speak about what's on their minds in private with a non-judgmental adult outside their family.
Counseling helps young people communicate and manage feelings more skillfully, strengthen relationships and navigate challenging experiences. These skills serve them at home, at school and with friends. When it works well, family members share the benefits of a child or adolescent's therapy.
